I’ve lived in London on and off for fifteen years now and like to think I have a pretty good feel for the City.
That said the great thing about being a wedding photographer is that you get to explore lots of nooks and crannies you might otherwise overlook. And so it was when Satty & Richard invited me to their neighbourhood of Stoke Newington, one of London’s many little villages.
Packed with small independent restaurants, cafes and shops, and teeming with familes and couples going about their usual Saturday-morning routine. After a saunter down the high street in the sun we finished up in Clissold Park, with the early signs of Spring starting to appear.
In just a week’s time I get to photograph their Sikh ceremony at a London Gurdwara followed by a civil ceremony at Hackney Town Hall Assembly Rooms. It’s going to be an incredible infusion of Anglo-Indian traditions, customs and fun and it can’t come quick enough.
