Buxted Park Hotel Wedding Photography by Sussex Wedding Photographer Richard Murgatroyd.
I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding at the Buxted Park Hotel in Sussex for some time. It’s an impressive 300 year old mansion with well manicured grounds sloping away to the Sussex countryside. As luck would have it I would end up photographing both my first and second weddings at the venue within a week of each other, beginning with nuptials of Colin & Susie.
My day began at the Friary Church of St Francis in Crawley. If proof was ever needed that modern architecture can look beautiful it is here with its mesmerising ceiling.
It would be unusual for there not to be a mini-drama at any wedding and on this occasion it was Susie exploring the boundaries of what could be deemed “fashionably late” for the ceremony. Whilst this was allowing the organist the chance to perform a wider repertoire than he may have expected, I’m not sure it was doing much for poor Colin’s nerves.
Despite the schedule being out of the window, the rest of the day panned out beautifully – testament to Colin & Susie’s relaxed demeanour and the team at the Buxted Park Hotel being very amenable to making a few last minute changes.
I hope you enjoy the small selection of images posted here from their special day.
I’ll leave the final word to the groomsman:
“The pictures of our wedding are fantastic and truly capture the mood and magic of our special day. Thank you Richard, we could not have wished for a better photographer”
